Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and when you contact us, how we use it, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it plain and specific to how this site actually works.
Last updated: 24 October 2026
01Who we are
dvlci.com is operated by NOVA AUTOMOTIVE SERVICES LTD, trading as DVLCI Motor Group (company number 17330382, Registered in England and Wales). Our registered office is 66 Paul Street, London, England, United Kingdom, EC2A 4NA. Our workshop is at 504 Tidworth Rd, London E3 4XT.
We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us at Support@DVLCI.com or on 0203 432 4458.
02Data we collect
Depending on how you use the site and deal with us, we may collect:
- Quote request details: your name, phone number, vehicle make, model, year, registration number, number of doors, and the message you write.
- Messages and calls: anything you send us by WhatsApp, email or phone, including your phone number and WhatsApp profile name.
- Vehicle and job details: information about your vehicle and the work you ask us to carry out, including a VIN where it is needed to identify the vehicle.
- Technical data: your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, which are recorded in the logs of our hosting provider when you visit the site.
- Analytics data (only if you choose “Accept all”): pages visited, how you arrived, device and browser information and approximate location, collected with Google Analytics with IP anonymisation.
- Your cookie choice, which is saved in your browser so that we do not ask you again on every visit.
We do not ask for payment card details on this website, and there are no user accounts.
03How the quote form works
The quote form on this site does not send your details to a database or server of ours. When you press Send, your browser opens WhatsApp with your answers already written into a message addressed to our WhatsApp number. Nothing is sent to us until you press send inside WhatsApp, and you can edit or delete the message first.
Once you send that message, it is handled by WhatsApp (operated by WhatsApp Ireland Ltd and Meta) under its own terms and privacy policy, and it is received on the phone we use to answer enquiries.
04Vehicle identifiers (registration and VIN)
A registration number or VIN can be linked to the person who owns or keeps the vehicle, so we treat both as personal data when they come with your name or contact details.
We use them to identify your vehicle correctly, to check what work and parts are suitable, to prepare a quote and, if you go ahead, to keep a record of the work carried out. We do not publish them and we do not sell them.
05How we use your information
| What we do | Why the law lets us |
|---|---|
| Reply to enquiries and prepare quotes | Taking steps at your request before a contract, and our legitimate interest in running our business |
| Carry out and manage work on your vehicle, and keep job records | Performing our contract with you |
| Meet legal, accounting, tax and insurance obligations | Legal obligation |
| Keep the website secure and working, and deal with misuse | Our legitimate interest in a secure, reliable site |
| Measure how the site is used (optional analytics) | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
This website does not sign anyone up to marketing. We will only send you marketing if you have agreed to it or where the law otherwise allows, and you can always ask us to stop.
06Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with providers that help us run the site and the business, and only as far as needed:
- Amazon Web Services: hosts the website (storage in London and delivery through the CloudFront network).
- WhatsApp (Meta): carries the messages you send us.
- Zoho: provides our business email.
- Google: provides Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies.
- Professional advisers, insurers and authorities, where we need advice or are legally required to disclose information.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
07How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the reason we collected it:
- Enquiries that do not lead to work: kept for as long as the conversation is active and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us.
- Job and invoice records: kept for as long as the law requires for accounting and tax purposes, which is generally six years, and for as long as we need to deal with any warranty or complaint.
- Website server logs: kept by our hosting provider for a short period for security and troubleshooting.
- Analytics data: kept for the retention period set in our analytics account.
08Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information, where we have no good reason to keep it;
- ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to us using it for our legitimate interests;
- receive the information you gave us in a portable format, where it applies;
- withdraw your consent at any time, for example by changing your cookie choice using “Cookie settings” in the site footer.
To use any of these rights, email Support@DVLCI.com. We will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
09Security
The website is served over HTTPS and hosted on a private, access-controlled cloud environment. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please avoid putting sensitive information such as payment details in a quote message.
10Links to other sites
The site links to services such as WhatsApp and TikTok. Those services have their own privacy practices and cookies, and this policy does not cover them.
11Children
Our services are for vehicle owners and keepers and the site is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
12Changes to this policy
If we change how we use personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes we will make that clear on the site.
